GapFiller is a personal workspace designed for teachers. It helps you plan lessons, manage your timetable, organize materials and build a teaching archive that belongs to you — across schools, classes and school years.
Unlike school platforms built for administration, GapFiller is built around your workflow. Everything you create stays in your workspace, even if you change school.
What you can do with GapFiller
GapFiller brings together the tools that teachers use every day into a single workspace. Here's what you can do:
Plan your lessons on a visual calendar
Your calendar is the centre of GapFiller. You see all your lessons, exams and personal events in a weekly, daily or monthly view. Each lesson is colour-coded by subject, so you can quickly scan your week.
You can create lessons, reschedule them by dragging, and mark them as prepared when you're ready to teach.
Set up your timetable once, get lessons automatically
Instead of adding every lesson by hand, you set up your timetable — the days and times when each class meets. GapFiller then generates all the lessons for you across the term or the full school year.
If a day falls on a holiday, you can exclude it. If the schedule changes, you adjust the timetable and the lessons follow.
Build your curriculum — topic by topic
A curriculum is your teaching plan for a subject and class. You add your topics in sequence, with an estimated duration for each. Then you can apply the curriculum to your timetable, and each topic gets matched to a lesson date.
You can reorder topics by dragging them, and reuse the same curriculum the following year — adapting it as needed.
Track homework and exams
You can assign homework from one lesson to another — for example, assign it on Monday and mark it as due on Wednesday. GapFiller keeps track of all assignments across your classes.
Exams appear on your calendar just like lessons — change the lesson type to Exam, add the plan and materials, and filter the calendar to show exams only.
Upload and organise your materials
Every lesson, topic or exam can have materials attached — PDFs, presentations, links, images. You can upload files from your computer or, on Pro and Lifetime, connect Google Drive or OneDrive to import from the cloud.
Your files stay linked to the lesson or topic where they belong, so you always know where to find them.
Use built-in teacher tools
GapFiller includes a set of practical tools you can use without leaving your workspace:
- Grade Calculator — convert a score into a grade using any scale
- Evaluation Grids — create rubrics with criteria and levels, then grade students interactively
- Gap Fill Generator — paste any text and turn it into a fill-in-the-blanks worksheet
Keep your personal dashboard
When you open GapFiller, your home dashboard shows you what matters today: your lessons for the day, how many you've prepared, and quick links to the calendar, curricula, files and tools.
If you're new, a getting started checklist walks you through the first meaningful actions — like planning your first lesson or uploading a material.
Who is GapFiller for?
GapFiller works for anyone who teaches:
- School teachers (primary, middle, high school) managing multiple classes and subjects
- University lecturers planning courses and tracking materials
- Private tutors organising one-on-one or small-group sessions
- Language teachers managing schedules across different schools or online platforms
If you teach, GapFiller helps you stay organised.
What makes it different?
Most school tools are designed for the school: registers, compliance, shared platforms. GapFiller is designed for you. Your materials, your planning, your archive — in a workspace that belongs to you, even if you change school or teach in more than one place.
It's available online from any device — computer, tablet or phone. No download needed.
Available languages
GapFiller is available entirely in three languages:
- English
- Italian
- Spanish
The whole interface — calendar, settings, teacher tools and this Help Center — is translated in all three. You can switch language anytime from Profile. We'll add more languages in the future.
