By the end of this guide you'll turn a passage into a gap-fill (cloze) worksheet ready to print.

Open Gap Fill Generator

  1. Sidebar → Teacher Tools
  2. Open the Gap Fill Generator tab
Paste your text, then hide every nth word or click words in the preview

Paste your text

In Paste your text here, paste an article, story or any short passage.

As you type or paste, a Preview appears. Instructions: Click on any word to hide or show it.

Hide words

You can mix these approaches:

Automatic mode

Turn on Automatic Mode: Hide every N word — GapFiller blanks every Nth word for you. Change the number to make the exercise harder or easier.

Click to hide

In the preview, click any word to blank it (or click again to restore). Tooltips: Click to hide / Click to show.

Smart features (English)

When the app language is English, Smart Features can Hide Verbs, Hide Adjectives or Hide Nouns. Grammar detection works best with English text.

Use Reset All Gaps to clear every blank and start again.

Word bank and print

Hidden words appear in the Word Bank (shuffled) so students can choose from the list.

When you're happy with the blanks, click Print Worksheet. The printout includes the gapped text and word bank (with GapFiller branding).

Preview shows blanks — Word Bank lists the hidden words shuffled

Attach the finished worksheet as a material on the lesson where you'll use it, or keep the source text in your lesson plan.
