Teaching days left — not calendar days

When teachers ask “how many days of teaching do I have left?”, they usually mean instructional weekdays, not every date on the wall calendar. Weekends, bank holidays, and school closures quietly shrink the real window.

This teaching days calculator starts from a Mon–Fri schedule (editable) and subtracts any holiday ranges you add. Use it for pacing schemes of work, booking assessments, or checking whether a unit still fits.

Worked example

From today to 15 July with Mon–Fri selected, a term might show about 40 teaching days before holidays. After excluding a one-week half-term and two bank holidays, you may have closer to 33 teaching days — enough for a six-week unit with room for review.

Change duration if you want hours as well as day counts; each teaching day defaults to one 50-minute block.
