School-year lesson totals for one class
Schemes of work are often written against “about 35 weeks”, but your class may meet two or three times a week with long holidays in between. A year total based on your actual weekdays is far more useful.
This page starts from a September–July window you can edit. Add half-terms, Christmas, Easter, and inset days to see a realistic annual lesson count and hour total.
Worked example
A class meeting Mon/Wed/Fri for 50 minutes from 1 September to 15 July might look like ~100+ lessons before holidays. After adding typical half-terms and seasonal breaks, the total often lands closer to 85–95 lessons — the number you should design the year around.
Presets are a starting point only. Always enter your official start, end, and closed days.

Run the calculator twice with different weekday patterns, or export each CSV and compare in a spreadsheet.
