By the end of this guide you'll know how to move content from curriculum topics onto the calendar — lesson by lesson, or with a light link in Stream.
Two ways to connect curriculum and lessons

You need a curriculum with topics first — create one or import from lessons. Lessons usually come from your timetable (or from creating them by hand on the calendar).
Apply Content to Lesson — fill an existing lesson
Use this when the lesson already exists on the calendar (timetable-generated or created by hand) and you want the topic’s content inside it.

Open the lesson
On the Calendar, click the lesson → Curriculum tab.

Select curriculum and topic
Under Select Curriculum, choose a curriculum. Under Select Curriculum Topic, choose the topic.
If GapFiller shows a Smart Suggestion based on your sequence, you can click Use This or Choose Different.

Apply Content to Lesson
Click Apply Content to Lesson.
GapFiller copies the topic’s title, lesson plan, type, materials and todos onto the lesson, and links the lesson to that topic.

You should see confirmation that content was applied. You can still edit the lesson afterwards — changes on the lesson do not automatically rewrite the shared topic unless you edit the topic itself.
Choosing a topic in the dropdown alone does not finish the job. You need Apply Content to Lesson to copy the content and keep the link with the applied material.
The other direction on the same tab
Still on the Curriculum tab, Add This Lesson to Curriculum sends the lesson’s content into a curriculum (see Import from lessons). Same tab, opposite flow: archive vs deliver.
Link in Stream — sequence without copying
In Stream view, turn on Curriculum next to the view buttons.
For upcoming lessons that are not linked yet, Stream can show a Suggested topic and a Link button. Link attaches that topic to the next unlinked future lesson in the stream.
Important: Link does not copy the plan or materials. It only connects the lesson to the topic. Use it to line up the sequence, then open lessons and Apply Content to Lesson when you are ready to pull in the full package — or apply content as you prepare each week.

A practical weekly workflow
Many teachers combine the pieces like this:
- Curriculum holds the master sequence, plans and files (built ahead or imported)
- Timetable puts lessons on dates
- Each week, open upcoming lessons → Apply Content to Lesson for the next topics — or use Stream to Link, then apply content when preparing
- After teaching, improve the topic (not only the dated lesson) when the change should help next year or other classes
- At year end, import or duplicate so the archive stays fresh
That loop is how curricula become a real teaching archive: plans and materials live on topics; the calendar is where they meet a date and a class.
Shared curricula
If several classes share one curriculum, editing a topic still affects every class on that curriculum — keep shared topics for the common core, and adjust individual lessons when one class needs something different.
