By the end of this guide you'll know two ways to reschedule a lesson: drag it on the calendar, or edit the schedule in the lesson panel.
Before you start
Open the Calendar and make sure the lesson you want to move is visible. Use filters or another view if you need to find it first.
Reschedule by dragging (desktop)
On a computer, in Day, Week or Month view:
- 1
Press and hold the lesson
Click the lesson chip and keep the mouse button down.
- 2
Drop it on the new slot
Drag it to the new day or time, then release. The lesson keeps the same duration; times snap to 15-minute steps.
GapFiller updates that occurrence only — even if the lesson is part of a recurring series. You'll see a short confirmation that the lesson was rescheduled.
Drag-and-drop works best on desktop. On phones and tablets, use the schedule fields below instead.
Reschedule from the lesson panel
- 1
Open the lesson
Click the lesson on your calendar.
- 2
Change the schedule
Find Schedule (or the Date, Start Time and End Time fields). Set the new day and times.
Or open the lesson and change Date, Start Time and End Time under Schedule - 3
Save
Click Save or Save Changes.
This method works on any device and is useful when you need exact times.
Timetable-linked lessons
Many lessons come from your timetable. Dragging a lesson to a new time moves that calendar occurrence — it does not rewrite the weekly timetable itself.
If you later change the school, subject or class on a linked lesson and save, GapFiller may ask whether to Link to timetable and save or Detach and save. Choose link when you still want it tied to the weekly schedule; detach when this lesson should stand on its own.
Need to change when a class meets every week? Edit the timetable (and its slots) rather than dragging every lesson one by one.
