How to pick a random name

Sometimes you need a quick, unbiased way to pick one name from a list — for class participation, prize draws, deciding who goes first, or assigning tasks. This random name picker makes it simple and fun with an animated selection effect.

Type names individually, paste a comma-separated list, or drop in one name per line. Press the Pick button and the spinner cycles through all names before landing on the winner. Save your lists for repeat use — they stay in your browser between sessions.

Quick example

Running a book raffle? Paste the 30 student names, press Pick, and the spinner selects the winner. Need to pick again for second and third place? Press Pick again — the tool tracks your history so you can see all results.

Switch to Groups mode if you need to split names into teams rather than picking one.
